SUMMARY:MONTHLY WALK - PRIOR'S COPPICE
DESCRIPTION:This walk will be more nature spotting –  join us for a bluebell walk on this evening of Endangered Species Day. \nWe will meet up at Prior’s Coppice car park\, LE15 8DB. \nWe will endeavour to car share\,  so please let Debra know if you intend to come. \nPrior’s Coppice is a woodland reserve teeming with wildlife and ancient atmosphere\, Prior’s Coppice is a relic of the wildwood that once covered all of Leicestershire and Rutland. When you step beneath the trees\, you can feel how old this remnant of woodland is. Some of the trees are several hundred years old and centuries of management have led to an ideal habitat for birds\, beasts and butterflies (and botanists!).

DESCRIPTION:People’s Emergency Briefing: to be held today in the Church of St Mary Magdalene and St. Andrew\, Ridlington – all are welcome. \nRecord heatwaves\, parched fields and grass\, shrunken reservoirs\, threat of wildfires – for many of us\, this has been our summer this year. \nThe People’s Emergency Briefing starts with a 50-minute public information film in which leading experts present evidence on the climate and nature crisis. It is followed by a facilitated discussion so that everyone gets the chance to reflect on what it means for us as individuals and for society. \nThe People’s Emergency Briefing is independently commissioned: it’s not a party-political initiative\, nor is it faith-led. \nIts central purpose is\n– to raise awareness\n– to create conditions in which communities can collectively find a way to make better-informed and compassionate choices about the realities we face \nYou won’t be expected to be an expert. You are very welcome to contribute observations\, questions\, reflections or just listen. \nJust bring your curiosity to know more and talk about what the nature and climate crisis means for you. \nJoin us in Ridlington Church (by kind permission of Revd.
