First, and with thanks to Margie for this one, “The Summerhouse Trilogy” by Alice Thomas Ellis. This one took me a while to get into but it is worth persevering – the same events seen from three different perspectives: the bride to be, the groom’s mother and a school friend of the bride’s mother – amusing and well written.
Having recommended Simon McCleave’s police procedurals in previous months I think this one is the best yet – “The Dee Valley Killings” – rather unsettling though: be warned!
Finally, a comic crime caper “Herring on the Nile” by L C Tyler – light reading, a good one for a holiday even if you are not on a cruise.
