Ridlington playing field

About Us

In 1946 the land forming the playing field was conveyanced to the trustees for the “use and benefit of the inhabitants of the Parish of Ridlington (aforesaid) as a cricket field and recreation ground and for properly organised village functions”.

There is no regular income and costs are covered by donations and fundraising events. Maintenance work is carried out where possible by volunteers however the biggest cost is grass cutting which is carried out by a contractor. Recently grants have been received to improve the grounds and play areas. Accounts are prepared annually and reported to the Parish Council and the Charity Commission ref: XT28282.

There is a children’s play area and mini football/rugby pitch. Also a Petanque court

Ridlington and Belton Cricket Club play their home fixtures here. The changing rooms are very basic and in need of refurbishment. The Trustees maintain the building and the field. The Cricket club maintain the cricket square. New members are very welcome to join us to carry on this very English tradition.
