Michael Palin’s “Great Uncle Harry, a tale of war and empire” a life which ended at the Battle of the Somme in 1916. To my mind, not one of his better books.
Three WW2 RAF novels by Derek Robinson – despite the brutal portrayal of life in the “best flying club in the world” I have enjoyed reading these.
