Starting this month with “What the Dog Saw” a compilation of articles by Malcolm Gladwell first published in The New Yorker; well crafted, entertaining and informative.

Two novels written by “insiders” also available – “Post Mortem” a debut crime novel by Kate London, a detective in the Met and “Beyond Forgiveness” by former solicitor Caro Fraser where a family’s complacency is shattered by a bequest in a will.

Lastly, “The Church Bizarre” another selection of light verse with cartoon illustrations.

 

The annual strim and rake of the churchyard followed by a ploughman’s lunch.

There is important information about the Local Government Reorganisation.  Should you wish to get involved or share your views, you can still do so before July 20th.

 

Last year we held  “SUNDAY TEAS”. It was so successful, that we plan to do it again, so save the dates.  We look forward to welcoming you with some lovely homemade delights – sandwiches, scones, cakes and plenty of tea and coffee.

Hope you are all enjoying this warm weather.

Please see attached our poster for the July Pop up Shop.

It is fresh pork this  month, there will be some pork products for the BBQ. I also hope to have fresh beef burgers and  there will also be frozen beef, lots of lovely steaks in stock, lamb and venison and also some frozen  burgers.

Fresh eggs too!

Unfortunately due to  insufficient interest the Village Hall Committee will not be going ahead with the Safari Supper planned for August 30th.
