CHURCHYARD WORK PARTIES

Heartfelt thanks are due to the members of the working parties who strimmed, trimmed and cleared the churchyard on Thursday, 2nd and on the morning of Sunday, 5th September. These planned tasks were carried out by Karen Baines, Neil Fairley, Steve, Barney and Joe Fox, David and Anne Harvey, Dave and Shelagh Johnson, John and Jacky Morrell and Richard and Debra Thatcher.

Special thanks to Richard Baines for removing the strimmings and clippings from the site.

A new management plan is being prepared for 2022 for volunteer work parties and will be placed in the church porch so people can identify volunteering opportunities.

Tickets for the Play have now all been sold! However, we have a list for cancellations,  if you are interested and want to be placed on this list, please do not hesitate to contact Margie Wall.

What a journey we have been on to stage this play! From Zoom meetings to socially-distanced rehearsals in a garden, and then at last we burst upon the stage! We have had so much fun with this one-act Agatha Christie spoof play, and we hope that you will have as much fun watching it!

So, do join us at Manton Village Hall on Saturday October 9th at 7.00 pm (Curtain up 7.30) and test your skills as detectives. So many people – so many motives!

Although Covid rules are now relaxed, it would be appreciated if you would wear masks for the performance, please.  We will update you nearer the time with any government-led changes and our aim will be to keep everyone safe.

Bring your own liquid refreshment and glasses for pre-performance drinks.

RIDLINGTON WALKING GROUP

Our  next Walking Group takes place on Wednesday 6th October, leaving at 2:00 pm from outside the Village Hall.

FLOWER FESTIVAL – CANCELLED

Unfortunately, it has not been possible to proceed with the proposed fund raising Flower Festival which was going to be held on October 9th and 10th.

HARVEST FESTIVAL – OCT 3RD 2021

Our Harvest Festival service will be held on Sunday 3rd October at 6pm.

All welcome at this annual service of Thanksgiving, which will be followed by refreshments – nibbles and wine.

Donations invited for the Rutland Foodbank.

CHANGES TO BIN COLLECTIONS IN VILLAGES IN RUTLAND

Rutland County Council have made changes to some of the bin collection routes, this means that your green and grey bin may now be collected on different days, if you have received a letter about your bin collection, your village or street will be listed. Ridlington’s Green bin is now collected with the black bin on Wednesday mornings.

Come to MANTON VILLAGE HALL on Saturday, October 9th to watch the Ridlington Players weave the murky story of DEATH AT THE DEANERY and all will be revealed!

Bring your own liquid refreshment and glasses and gather for a pre-theatre drink at 7:00 pm. Curtains up at 7:30 pm. Meet the cast afterwards and enjoy an after theatre pow-wow!
