Ridlington Parish Council
View of Ridlington

Ridlington has a defibrillator and it is an essential asset for the village which can save lives. It was installed in the village for emergency use in case of Cardiac Arrest and is available for the Residents should this be required.

The defibrillator was installed in 2013 in the decommissioned telephone box on Main Street. The costs have been covered by a donation from the Karen Ball Fund, by Ridlington Parish Council and by donations from village residents.

There is a dedicated call out team of Residents who support the use of the defibrillator and its continued maintenance. Access to the defibrillator requires a code to unlock the yellow cabinet inside the telephone box. The code is C159X.

However, in the event of a cardiac arrest, your first port of call should always be 999. The emergency services will be able to see that there is a defibrillator in the village and can contact the assigned dedicated village Team to go and get the defibrillator for you all while talking and providing reassuring assistance.

There are ongoing costs to maintain the defibrillator in good working order. These costs are: renewal of the battery pads, and an annual emergency phone line charge.

If you feel able to support the scheme and contribute towards the reserve fund, there is a dedicated bank account with Lloyds. The account name is Ridlington Defibrillator, sort code 30-95-47 and account number 15679168.

If you are new to the village and would like to know more about the Protocol in place, we would be happy to give a short explanation and introduction on how it operates.

Alternatively further information about defibrillators can be found at www.communityheartbeat.org.uk/modern-aeds.
