THE BIG PLASTIC COUNT

The crisps have passed the taste test!  The British Crisp Co. use British potatoes, are gluten free and have recyclable packaging.  Not available in supermarkets, sold on-line by the box.

Let Debra Thatcher know if you would like to add to the next order.

BOOKS! BOOKS! BOOKS!

The first, “Lily’s Promise” by Lily Ebert, a compelling memoir of the Holocaust.  Very powerful and moving, a testament to Lily’s irrepressible spirit.

The second,  Elif Shafak’s “The Island of Missing Trees”, historical fiction recording the impact of ethnic division and how trauma moves through generations – loved this book.

Using the theme of generational trauma, Ashley Audrain’s “The Push”, tells of the making and breaking of a family in a tense psychological thriller

THE BIG PLASTIC COUNT

Some of us did this for a week in March.

Our household, just the two of us and the dog, logged 44 pieces of plastic – that equates to 2,288 pieces per year.  We try to recycle as much as we can but can we reduce the amount of plastic in our home?  Crisps – who doesn’t love them?  We could make our own…but we’ve found a supplier who uses recyclable bags – taste test coming up!
