Many thanks to everyone in the village who continue to support the work of the FOOD BANK . Our help is vital.

The next collection is on Wednesday, August 18th.

We continue to be asked for donations of crackers, cheese, biscuits, long life sponge puddings, sugar, noodles, pump hand soap, shampoo, washing up liquid and deodorant.

Thank you.

David Wood, Rutland’s High Sheriff and his wife Jeffy are visiting the village on the morning of Friday, August 6th. His day will start from 10:00 am onwards with a coffee and then they will be walking  around the village starting from the Church, then onto the Village Hall, and then up to the Playing Fields. So if you see a delegation walking around (hopefully the rain will hold off) do come out to welcome them and feel free to talk about your views on biodiversity and climate change and how you see our village able to make an impact, albeit it on a small scale but proactive.

On his appointment to office David indicated he wished to visit every village and the two towns in Rutland to meet members of the community and given the relevance of climate change, to see what initiatives people are taking up in terms of biodiversity and sustainability.

David has indicated that the three most biodiverse villages will be given a tree to plant.

I am sure that everyone will make David and Jeffy most welcome.
