Christmas, bank holiday and severe weather collection information

We will collect your waste as normal on all Bank Holidays, apart from those at Christmas and New Year.

All other collection days remain the same unless disrupted due to bad weather or vehicle problems.

Disruption due to severe bad weather
If the weather is very bad, such as heavy snow, we may not be able to collect your bin safely. When this happens we need you to leave your bin out until we can return to empty it.

If your bin hasn’t been emptied within 24 hours of the normal collection day, we will collect a reasonable amount of extra waste or recycling when we do come to empty the bin.

Please leave this waste or recycling in a bag by the side of your bin. We won’t be able to empty your bin if the lid is not fully closed.

Where there are delays due to bad weather we sometimes need to cancel Green Bin collections to catch up.

Christmas and New Year 2020
Over the Christmas and New Year period some of the bin collection days will change. Please check the information in the table below so you know when to put your bin out for collection. We are not able to return to collect your bin if you forget to put it out or if you put it out on the wrong day.
